Fort Carlton Provincial Historic Park
http://www.se.gov.sk.ca/saskparks/ParkInfo/parks/park.asp?park=Fort%20Carlton
Located where the Carlton Trail and the North Saskatchewan River cross, Fort Carlton was one on the busiest fur trading posts that the Husdson's Bay Company owned. Originally built in 1810, it operated 75 years until it was burned during the Riel Resistance in 1885. Today, the site is a provincial historic park. The fort has been rebuilt along with four buildings stocked to 1870's standards. Outside the stockade walls you will find a visitor centre with museum and gift shop; a tipi encampment; a picnic area and campground; two interpretive trails; and picturesque, perfect lands. Friendly, knowledgeable staff are there to guide you through the facilities.
